| The Family and Club remember Canon Desmond McCreery |

On 27 November a plaque was unveiled in memory of our late President and Chaplain Desmond McCreery. Frances McCreery, her son Garreth and daughter Janet and their families were present as Frances performed the unveiling. Garreth spoke movingly of his father’s love for the game of rugby, his old school and his rugby Club. Current joint chaplain Father Kevin Donaghy told how Desmond had helped him through his early days as Club Chaplain. The Reverend Andrew Forster spoke warmly of the twenty plus years he had known Desmond and his family and how pleased Desmond was when he heard of Andrew’s appointment to St Anne’s in Dungannon.
President Stanley Turkington thanked the McCreery family for their gift to the Club and to Ian Brewster for organising the evening. Stanley said later that it was a family evening in every sense of the word and a fitting tribute to a man who did much for the Club but spoke little of his work.
