| Andy Crawford, New IRFU President |
| |

 |
| |
Congratulations to Andy Crawford our former President on being electeded President of the Irish Rugby Football Union.
It is great honour for Andy personnally and for the club. His election spans 93 years since the club's previous President Major Robert Stevenson who President in 1912 ,a year better known for the sinking of the Titanic.
Andy began his playing career at Dungannon in 1957 as a hard hitting open side flanker. He will always be remembered for his captaincy when Dungannon clinched the double of Senior League and Senior cup for the first time in 1967/68.
He player numerous times for Ulster and earned a final Irish trial in 1969.
After retiring in 1971 Andy proved to be a capable administrator and managed Dungannon's first overseas tour to Canada in 1976. He became Dungannon's Senior representative at the Ulster branch and in 1983 was elected President of the club.
Indue course he he progressed to become Ulster's Senior representitive at the IRFU and has conducted stirling work at all levels within the Union.
He has received his rightful recognition and he has made it known that his priority during his year in office is to support the club game throughout the country. He considers that we have got the structures in place for the professional game and that we now need to get behind the clubs and schools.
We wish him every success in his year in office.
