Stevenson Park was purchased in 1969 and has been gradually improved into one of the finest arenas for playing and viewing rugby in Ireland. In 1999/2000 the Club completed the first phase of the development of its facilities by totally renovating and extending the changing facilities. Incorporating new administration offices, new heating and building a new car park. The new development which cost £500,000 was funded by a National Lottery Grant and by the generous donation of members

WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT, DUNGANNON FOOTBALL CLUB

On behalf of our members, I extend a very warm welcome to all our visitors to Stevenson Park and to invite you to come into the clubhouse to enjoy our hospitality.

Although the success of the First XV sets the tone, I believe that a Rugby Club is also about all the other teams including Youth and Mini rugby. I believe that their performances last season bode well for the future of the club. The First XVs all important win at Ballymena in the last match of the season was particularly encouraging in terms of the quality of performance after a season in which they had been beset by injuries.

During the summer the upper pitch has been totally re-laid. After thirty-seven years of continuous use this work was long overdue. It has been a considerable investment for the club but a necessary one for the future of rugby at Stevenson Park.

I would like to thank all the volunteers who give up their time to work for the club. Our club continues to need as many volunteers as possible in many various roles to continue to develop and prosper in the third tier of Irish rugby. The First XV is planning a two week three-match tour of South Africa in August 2009. I ask members to support the various fund-raising initiatives towards what will be a major overseas tour for the club.

I am profoundly grateful to our long standing main sponsor First Trust Bank for their continued support. I would also express my warmest thanks to all our other sponsors and advertisers for their support. The club needs you all as we could not exist and develop without your financial support and I commend you all to our members.

Finally to our club Captain, Michael Rainey and our Head Coach John Andrews and all the other captains, coaches (including team managers and support staff) and players throughout the club I wish an enjoyable and successful season.

Ian Brewster
President
